After receiving his Master of International Business Administration (Mag.rer.soc.oec.) at the University of Vienna, Stephan Burianek decided to add theatre studies at the same university. During this second studies he started engagements in the fields of PR and marketing at cultural institutions, like the Tanzquartier Wien (Vienna) and the Bayreuth Festival (Germany). Additionally he began writing art reviews and travel stories. What he used to consider a hobby finally became his main profession: As a freelance journalist focusing on travel, culture & lifestyle topics he is currently writing for several important quality newspapers and magazines in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg, among which „Die Zeit“, „Neue Zürcher Zeitung“ and „Die Presse“ are worth pointing out.A

His post-graduate career was divided between the PR and Marketing departments at well-known cultural institutions such as Tanzquartier Wien (Vienna) and the Bayreuth Festival (Germany). During those years, he started writing art reviews and travel features.

What was once a hobby is now a fulltime career: As a freelance journalist, he writes travel, culture and lifestyle features and has contributed primarily to high-profile newspapers and magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, such as “Die Zeit”, “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” and “Die Presse”. He has his own column in the “Connoisseur Circle”. In October 2012 he launched Jin Sha Blog – The China Luxury Travel Market Observer.
